Chuy Hartman

I’m a 22 year old traditional illustrator currently attending my first term at Art Center College of Design on scholarship. I come from the San Fernando Valley where me and my family own and run one of the very few independent coffee/bbq shops remaining called Buffalo Bruces Mercantile. Becoming aware of the dramatic social change around the world, I’ve become compelled to document the world around me. With every piece I do, I constantly strive to introduce the ideas that are self reflective of our own society. I primarily work with ink, charcoal, graphite, pastel and have began to teach myself how to paint. I’m currently expanding my use of traditional mediums to further communicate, address, and inspire others to take action against the negative aspects that continue to drive our society, and in turn, the world.
